Sold Out

Skki was one of the first artists to develop the graffiti movement in Europe. He began painting graffiti in the streets of Paris during the early Eighties with Jay One. In 1982, he founded the group Bad BC with Ash. He then took part in many international events, painting with artists like Goldie and Vulcan in NYC, and later hanging his works beside those of Jean Michel Basquiat and Keith Haring. During the Nineties, his work took a new direction, and he painted increasingly on canvas; sticking on images of a tiny character, Skki, which served as his logo and developed his work as a graphics artist.
Skki works across a large range of different media, styles and moods, refusing to adopt a signature style. Yet most of his output reflects an awareness of contradiction: spirituality vs capitalism, absurdity vs realism and abstraction vs narration
